Decorated Pipe Stem

C5-506 Feature 1 Square P (North Yard) 0-.5′ BS 1959
This pipe stem had a bore measurement of 8/64″ and is decorated with rouletted straight lines and stamped florals. The Dutch in the 1630s and later the Bristol pipe makers of England in the second half of the 17th century commonly decorated stem this way. It probably dates to the later period ca. 1660-1680.
