Storage Pit Artifacts

These pieces were all found in what is interpreted as a Native storage pit that immediately preceded the occupation of the site by the Taylors ca. 1649. Top left is a piece of shell-tempered Native pottery, top right is a flake of European bottle glass, and at the bottom is a piece of Cattle radius. It is believed that this bone may represent a ritual deposit transfering ownership of the property from Native use to English.
